1. Organize your Laundry Room

Today we’re going to talk about Dollar Store bins that you can use to organize your home, and I’ll show you a bunch that I use around my home. Let’s get started with these storage ideas. We’ll start with my laundry room.

The first one is this is a dollar store garbage can and here are some towels, for example, I place this towards the back on top of my front loaders but you could easily do this somewhere else. I use this small trash can as my laundry basket. Sometimes you can buy the shelves that go behind your washer and dryer or maybe you have space on the floor or somewhere around or you can even hang baskets.. I’ll show you an example of that too but our kitchen is right over there so we often have dirty wash rags, hand towels, and things that we want to throw into the laundry quickly and this is a way to place them here and they’re ready to grab when we’re doing laundry. Or maybe you’re coming in from Mowing and you have grassy socks you can take them off and throw them in here without tracking grass all over the house.

Next up is my second trash bin from the dollar store this time with a bag in it. This is my garbage bag that goes in here this is where we pull all the lint out of the dryer and throw it directly in here. Maybe you’ve got something else you need to throw away that you’re finding in your pockets when you’re going through your laundry, this is just really great and really convenient. Both of these don’t take up much room.

Lastly, I use dryer balls now they’re wool and there are no chemicals in them. They take place of dryer sheets but they roll around so I have another bin that I place right here next to all of them. These three bins help keep me organized in my laundry room.

Our winter gear storage is in these dollar store bins hung up with command hooks. You can see the full tutorial here on this project

2. Extra mud room STorage

Next up are these trash cans with chalkboard labels and they’re right above our coat rack in the laundry room so when we come in this is where we take our shoes and coats off. Those trash bins hold our hats and mittens and all they’re hung up there with command hooks on the backside. So if you take one of these off you can see the command hook and then we just hook it back on. You can use these in toy rooms and bathrooms for extra storage space, you can do them vertically or horizontally. 3. Stairway Baskets

3. Stairway Baskets

Next up are my stairway baskets I like using these handled ones you can find them at Dollar Tree or Walmart they fit really nicely right here on your steps. Then every time you have something that needs to go upstairs I just place it in the basket. The next time I go up I run the basket up with me, empty it out and bring it back down. Maybe upstairs I’ve got stuff that needs to come down so it provides an easy way to transport your stuff up and down the stairs.

I have in the past color-coded these baskets for my kids with their favorite colors and each person had their own basket. Maybe they had toys or books they needed to put away each person had their own basket so they grabbed it when they went up the stairs.

4. Organize your Kitchen

Next up are the drawers in our kitchen and this is our office in the kitchen where the kids do their projects and homework. A lot of time this space becomes a junk drawer. Over in these side bins over here are their crayons and I can show you that but I basically just measured these and figured out what I needed and fit them all. Now I have these sections they’re all organized and all of these baskets came from Dollar Tree. I use different Dollar Store bins or Walmart bins to organize our crayons obviously our markers and our colored pencils are missing right now due to them doing some projects.
