Easy Thrift Store Upcycle

Another trip to the thrift store and I found this cute terra cotta house that was missing the rest of it. I gave it a little paint and upcycled it to fun decor for my yard that lights up!

Here is the terra cotta house that I found that was clearly missing pieces.

Easy Thrift Store Upcycle Video

I started by painting the sky with black Apple Barrel Multi-Surface paint and let that dry.

I painted the base of the town in Folk Art Color Shift in the color Dragon Flash. It’s an amazing paint that color shifts between 2 colors.

I painted over the top of the black paint with Green, Gold Red Shift – Folk Art Dragonfly Glaze.

This stuff is so incredibly fun to work with – amazing northern lights sky appearance!

I painted the town houses with Folk Art Multi-Surface sterling sliver paint.

To give the houses a little depth, I painted the indents with Delta Creative Ceramcoat in metallic deep silver.

I let that dry completely. You could leave it as is or …

Place an LED or color changing LED light inside.

You can add a regular tealight or candle in it and not only will it glow, but it will add extra heat to your space.

Stick in a solar light through the top or place a color changing globe solar light on top.
