Creating Seasonal Decor for Your Home

DO YOU LIKE THE BEAUTIFUL DÉCOR YOU SEE AT THE STORE BUT NOT THE PRICE TAG?

WOULD YOU LOVE TO BE ABLE TO CREATE IT YOURSELF FOR A LOT LESS?

IF YOU ANSWERED YES, CREATING SEASONAL DÉCOR DOESN’T HAVE TO COST AN ARM AND A LEG.

How do you decorate seasonally on a budget?

You can shop at inexpensive places like Dollar Stores as well as thrift stores and with just a little love create beautiful seasonal décor for your home for just a few dollars.

What is seasonal decoration?

When you decorate for the season, you get to leave it up for several months. Plus who wants to have a bunch of decorations that sit in a storage box most of the year.

The best part about decorating for the season is that you get to leave it up for several months giving you more bang for your buck. Plus who wants to have a bunch of decorations that sit in a storage box most of the year.

Creating fall décor is super easy with things you can find in your backyard.  Items like pine cones, acorns, and leaves.  Preserve leaves and add them to a branch, sprinkle pine cones with cinnamon, and add acorns to the base of a candle holder.  Love mercury glass but not the price?  Buy a pumpkin candy dish from a thrift or discount store and spray paint it with mirror spray paint to create the look yourself.

Winter is a time for several holidays and a wonderful time to create a cozy space. you can make your own Nutcracker soldier out of terra cotta flower pots with a little paint, or maybe you want to make a snowy wreath out of coffee filters.  Buy a couple dollar store wine glasses and use some glass paint to create beautiful birch/aspen tree glasses.  Add glitter to some old vases, stack them and you have a snowman.

In the spring bring colors and life into your seasonal decor. It’s easy to add some window clings to a candle holder you have for St. Patrick’s Day.  Find an ugly ceramic bunny for cheap at a thrift store and paint or decoupage it into something fabulous.  Paint over a dollar store door hanger and make a sign for the Easter Bunny.

Summer is a time of BBQs, being outside, and and spending time with family. It’s is a great time for creating decor to celebrate this. Put messages for a loved one in a recycled bottle and add a solar light top to pay tribute to those you miss.  Add some stickers to mason jars and create the perfect vases/utensil holders, luminaries and more for the 4th of July.
