Here are the instructions
I bought this Better Homes and Garden bucket set to turn into a garden planter. I filled the 3 buckets or flower pots with dirt to be the base of this garden gift basket.
I picked out 3 garden seed packets and for this garden basket I’m focusing on an herb garden. I picked out 3 herb seed packets to grow in each of the planters. You could use flower seeds instead if that fits the person that you’re giving the garden gift too.
I grabbed 3 skewers to go with each of the seed packets.

I taped skewer to the back of each seed packet.
Other ideas to tape to the back would be popsicle or crafts sticks, or garden markers.
I placed the seed packets on the skewers in each planter.
I added chalkboard garden markers to each planter so that when the seeds are planted they can write the name of what they planted in each flower pot.
You can stop here, or you can add some extras.
Here are some of the other things I added to my gift for gardeners.
- Garden gloves
- Chalk (for the garden markers)
- Pruners
- Kitchen scissors
- Pizza cutter
- Rubber scraper
I added the chalk so they would have it for the garden markers. I added pruners to help care and shape the plants. I added items that would be helpful in the kitchen to use the herbs like the scissors, pizza cutter, and rubber scraper. I placed them into the dirt representing flowers or the plant.
I love that this gift basket can be used indoors or outdoors. It’s great for people who are interested in gardening but don’t have a yard or space to garden. What’s better than having fresh herbs right in your kitchen to cook with too!
This gift basket for gardeners is great for other occasions too, like Mother’s or Father’s Day, Weddings, Showers, Birthdays, Holidays, and more.

For this basket I used dirt, but you could use dollar store rocks, torn up recycled paper, store bought filler, etc.
You can use something relative to the gift your giving. Maybe a mug with a hot chocolate or coffee kit, or planters for a garden basket, a tea pot for a tea lover basket.
The dollar store has a lot of inexpensive baskets and items that can go in that are useful. Use an oven mitt, and fill it with kitchen supplies. Use a basket and fill it with arts and crafts supplies. You can see my video with a lot of options here https://youtu.be/9tBrnTxG31Y
