Keeping your dream kitchen organized and clean doesn't have to be hard. Here are some easy peasy steps to take.

The kitchen is unquestionably the busiest room in the modern family home. Unfortunately, keeping yours organized can feel very difficult when the space is limited.

But that doesn’t mean you should start waving the white flag – or tea towel – just yet.

Here are six simple steps that will help you regain control to become king or queen of the kitchen once more. Let’s get cooking!

Steps to keep your dream kitchen clean and organized

1| Organize Your Drawers

Keeping the countertops clear is an essential step for kitchen organization. Therefore, you must focus on maximizing the use of internal spaces is essential. Organizing your drawers will save valuable space elsewhere. It also keeps the pots, pans, and crockery protected.

Further steps may include hanging pots and pans from hooks on the wall. This can be a great option when dealing with a rustic or farmhouse appeal. If you have a pantry, be sure to use the space that this offers too.

2| Always Clean The Dishes

The thought of cleaning the dishes after a beautiful but filling meal isn’t too pleasant. But it’s better than returning to them in the morning. Piled dishes will make the kitchen look dirty, cramped, and uninviting. Cleaning as you go along is highly advised.

If you have a dishwasher, that’s great. Even if you don’t, it’s vital to clean plates and cutlery. You can leave a pot or two with stubborn stains in the sink. If possible, though, you should want to clean everything and put them away. It may even help you sleep better.

3| Stop Over Ordering Food

Too many cooks spoil the broth. And too much food will spoil the kitchen vibes. Learning to reduce your grocery shopping only to the items you need is key. There are several Hello Fresh competitors that offer subscription boxes. This aligns volumes to your needs.

Aside from saving valuable kitchen space it can save you money and help the planet. After all, food waste is one of the biggest problems in modern society. When you order less food, you can live with a compact refrigerator too.

First - declutter. How many of the same utensil do you really need? Ask yourself - do I really need/use this???

4| Lose Unused Gadgets

There is no doubt that modern kitsch gadgets can make a world of difference to your cooking habits. Smoothie makers, fat grilling machines, and slow cookers are some of the most popular. But that should not mask the fact that there are a lot of useless gadgets.

The pasta maker that hasn’t left the box and other items that haven’t been used in months should be sold. Aside from clawing back valuable money, it will free up more space. Your kitchen won’t suddenly feel huge, but it will feel bigger.

5| Let There Be Light

Interior design largely focuses on tricking the eyes. This is especially important when looking to change the vibes within your limited kitchen space. New windows, a skylight, and the use of mirrors are just three ways to make the kitchen look and feel bigger.

The right choice of blinds for the kitchen will have a positive influence too. If you have dark wood materials, painting them a lighter color will soon bring positivity back. Adding a serving hatch is another possible option.

6| Look For Smarter Solutions

Kettles and other common kitchen items will reduce the available space. Instant boiling taps can solve this issue. Likewise, a fridge that has an integrated water filter can save you from having a jug out on the side. The simple ideas are built for modern life.

If you have a boiler and water tank in your small kitchen, this is another issue to target. Looking for a more convenient option with Smart tech features will serve you well. Act now, and you’ll soon be back in control.

#3 is my favorite, closely followed by #4. These are great tips and right on. I think keeping food waste down is a great idea. We do seem to over order. I love it when my fridge feels empty by the end of the week.
