Terra Cotta Pot DIY Instructions

Prepare the surface and flower pots

I like to cover my surface with a drop cloth, but you could also use paper plates, wax paper, etc to cover your area. If you have aged pottery, you might want to take a wet paper towel and clean them off too so the paint sticks well.

Paint the saucer and pots

I painted the saucer with Folk Art Clover paint. I didn’t need a base coating or a clay pot sealer with this type of paint, and it only took one coat of paint, and I let it dry completely. I’m also not planning to plant anything in them. If you don’t want to hand paint them, you could use spray paint on the entire pot.

Chas, I really enjoyed your video on the turtles! So very cute. A suggestion if I might: when trying to remove those pesky stickers, grab your hair dryer, set it on low and warm the sticker for a few seconds. then peel it off. might have to repeat, but it works on lots of items!

    Keep crafting!!
