Do you like wind chimes and wonder how to make them? I had. It’s not as hard as you may think to make DIY wind chimes. Wind chimes can cost a lot of money. This is a great way to use things you already have around the house to make a wind chime that will complement your other garden ornaments. I am a huge fan of dollar store crafts and this is a great project you can do with dollar store finds. Using a flower basket from the dollar store and some utensils from my husband’s grandma and my grandma, I was able to create Dollar Tree Wind Chimes. The first step is to gather items you want to use for the actual chimes. You may have things around the house that have a special meaning that would be perfect as chimes. If not you can certainly find things at a craft store, dollar tree stores, party store, or discount store.

If you’d rather you could use fishing line, shower curtain rings, keychain rings, etc.

These are some of the utensils I used - egg beater, potato masher, spatula, and and old pot.

You could easily purchase some utensils at the dollar store, or even a thrift store.

I attached the solar light with wire through the hold on the top. I could have bought a larger solar light that would have fit in there on its own, but I had this one on hand.

It’s all attached with the wire. I thought about fishline, but these utensils are heavy and it need something a little stronger.

I look at it and think of our grandma's. :)

Update to this post – I upgraded the wire to shower curtain clips from the dollar store. I linked them together. The wind chime is really solid now and can take all kinds of wind.

I love creating a dollar store DIY, and with enough wind, I’ll hear and think of my grandma every time. What a fun project (and easy project)! I hung it in the perfect place where I can see it and hear it.
