How do you attach command wall hooks?
Here is the easy way to get started. Inside the command, hook packages are strips like this. The first step is to place the correct side to the back of the command hook itself. (The directions will be on the box, and generally, the part that goes on the back of the command hook is red.)
The other side of the command hook sticker says “wall” and this is the part you’ll stick to the wall.
You peel off the wall side and place it on the wall and press on it for about 30 seconds. Once it’s up, it is recommended not to hang anything on it for about 1 hour to allow adhesion time.
How do I remove a command hook?
Remove the hook by sliding it up.
Pull straight down on the sticker tab.

Why won’t my command hooks stick to the wall?
There are several reasons why Command Hooks don’t stick.
- Too much temperature fluctuation and constant temperature change can cause the sticker to lose its grip
- Too much weight, if an item is heavier than the allotted amount it will eventually fall off
- Wall is dirty
- Sticker won’t stick to powdery unfinished textures

Thank you Linda and on no, I’m so sorry that has happened to you! I do know making sure you have the right weight along with pushing and holding the 30 seconds on the wall and waiting an hour after before hanging is important if that helps.
wipe the surface off with rubbing alcohol. let dry, then push command sticker on for 30 seconds.
Thank you for sharing
I use them too! I was actually planning to do that hat one on the back of our coat closet door because hats were left everywhere. As soon as I bought the hooks & made a plan, the person didn’t want them and decided on a different plant. LOL
So glad you use them too Linda 🙂 Oh and so sorry to hear you were all set to go and then the plans changed. I know you’ll use those command hooks for another adventure I’m sure.
I love them, too. They are great for so many things!

Hi Chas! They are pretty handy. 🙂 We’ve been using them in our glamper home just because Mr. Ethereal is adamant about NOT putting holes in the trailer’s walls {resale value} but we finally did put in some screws a week ago to hang a permanent clothes hanger. 😉 Pinned a couple of photos to my Shopping Trends and Perfect Storage boards for you.
Have a great day,
Barb 🙂
Hi Barb! I love that you use them too and love that Mr. Ethereal doesn’t want to put holes in your glamper – sounds a lot like my Mr as well 🙂 Thank you so much for the Pins. Have a wonderful week as well.
