Creating a seasonal look in your home doesn’t have to be hard. Just a few simple items put together can create ambiance in your home. Use this craft project as a nightlite in your bathroom for easy seasonal decor. This project is great for decorations, party crafts, or a gift.

Dollar Tree Supplies for St. Patrick’s Day Glass Block

  • glass block
  • removable stickers or window clings
  • strand of white or green lights
  • contact paper

How to Make St. Patrick’s Day Glass Block

One thing I love to do with window clings is utilize glass blocks. Glass blocks are great for so many seasons. For, the St. Patrick’s Day Glass Block, I took a little piece of contact paper and cut it to size. This gives it a frosted look. I placed my window clings on top of the contact paper. That way, it would kind of fog the lights that I put inside, and then I used it to display as a nightlight in my bathroom.

The other thing I love to do is grab those stickers that are in other sections. The photo above just happens to be one of those removable stickers that I got at Dollar Tree with Shamrock lights inside. I wanted to be able to see into that block to display the lights. This St. Patrick’s Day craft creates easy seasonal decor.

Fingerprint St. Patrick’s Day Mug

This is a fun craft for kids. You can make an easy St. Patrick’s day mug with a little green paint and your fingers. The best part is you can enjoy the fingerprints for years to come. It’s important to use paint that is good for glass if you want it to be long-term. If you are not wanting it to be long-term, then you can use anything, and it will wash off later.

Fingerprint St. Patrick’s Day Mug Supplies:

  • Apple Barrel paint
  • paintbrush
  • glass or mug
  • paper plate

How to Make Fingerprint St. Patrick’s Day Mug

Clean the glass with an alcohol prep pad to remove dirt, debris, and oil. A clean surface gives the paint the best chance of sticking. Place the green Apple Barrel paint onto a paper plate. Put paint on your finger, but get most of the bulk off so it is a light coating of paint. Tap your finger onto the glass forming a heart shape. In the picture above, I’m going for the Clover shape by making little taps with hearts. Use a paintbrush to make the stem.

If you want it to be permanent, you can let it air dry. Follow the package instructions for the paint. Often, air drying takes about 28 days to cure. If you want to speed up the process, there’s sometimes an optional route in those instructions, and that is to place the glass in the oven. Then your paint should stay on more permanently, and it’s top-rack dishwasher safe.

Are you looking for gnome craft ideas? Here is a super easy DIY that anyone can do, plus a few more options along the way.

Dollar Tree St Patrick’s Day Gnomes

Gnomes are a fun dollar store DIY you can use for different seasons. Kids love these fuzzy gnomes and enjoy making their leprechauns! Just recycle a bottle and grab a few items from Dollar Tree to finish your St. Patrick’s Day gnome.

Dollar Tree Supplies for Gnomes:

  • green felt
  • small stuffed bear for beard
  • ribbon: black and gold
  • seasonal socks
  • bead or pom poms for nose
  • scissors

How to Make St. Patrick’s Day Gnomes

Start by taking one of the socks and sliding it over the entire recycled bottle. Use a Dollar Tree bear to cut the beard and hair. Use green felt from the dollar store and I cut two triangle shapes to cover the top of the bottle in the sock. Hot glue both of those together and flip it around so it is inside out, or right side out. Next, hot glue on the beard to go on the gnome or leprechaun. Slide the hat over the top of the beard and the bottle. Place a little bead as the nose underneath the hat and over the top of the beard. Hot glue on some extra fur for hair around the base of the hat. Use a little ribbon to make a buckle.

You can turn him into a normal gnome and change his hat for every season or holiday, making him very versatile. He can be a leprechaun for St. Patrick’s Day, but then you can turn him into a normal gnome. Since he was made with all Dollar Store items, he’s super inexpensive to make.
