Why Choose Steam Cleaning?
Tired of scrubbing for hours and still not getting results? What if I told you there was a faster, easier, and totally chemical-free way to deep clean your home? Steam cleaning is a game-changer for busy people who want a spotless home without harsh chemicals.
Steam cleaners use traditional boiler technology to heat water to a high temperature and produce deep, sanitizing hot steam cleaning power. It’s safe, effective, and doesn’t leave behind any weird chemical smells!
Getting Started with Your Wagner Steam Cleaner
The Wagner On Demand Power Steamer comes with 18 included attachments and accessories with a built-in storage compartment. Attachments include nylon utility brush, brass utility brush, wallpaper attachment (to remove wallpaper), small steam jet nozzle, mop head attachment with a microfiber pad for steam mopping floors. It includes a funnel to help you fill the water reservoir. With all the utility brushes, you can clean countless areas and household surfaces! It has an 8-foot steam hose so you can get to those hard-to-reach areas and provides 40 continuous minutes of cleaning power.
Using it is super simple:
- Fill with distilled water using the included funnel
- Plug in and turn on
- Wait for the light to turn from red to green while it pressurizes.
- Simply pull the trigger and it’s ready to use!
Pro Tip: Always use distilled water to prevent mineral buildup inside the machine. This will extend the life of your steamer and keep it working perfectly!
Quick Kitchen Steam Cleaning Guide
Countertops
I steamed my kitchen countertops using the jet nozzle, then wiped them with a clean microfiber cloth. Steam cleaning is even safe for granite and other porous surfaces!
Sink & Faucets
I steamed my sink and then wiped it out with a clean cloth. Don’t forget to steam the bottom of your sink, garbage disposal, and drains.
For faucets, steam thoroughly and shine them up with a microfiber cloth. Hard water stains? No problem! Steam loosens up the buildup in seconds.
Stubborn Hard Water Stains
Hard water stains don’t stand a chance! The steam loosens up the buildup in seconds. Just steam the affected area and wipe it down with a microfiber cloth. The before and after difference is amazing.
Cooktops & Stoves
I steamed my stove top, then wiped the grease and grime away. It’s amazing how easily the built-up grease comes off with just steam and a wipe. This works perfectly for glass cooktops too!
Backsplash
I used the nozzle brush attachment and got the tile grout clean on my backsplash. Steam, then wipe away those grease splatters. Your backsplash will look brand new!
Microwave
Using the jet nozzle, I steamed the outside handle and keypad to sanitize, then steamed the inside and wiped it up. This is so much easier than scrubbing with chemicals!
Oven – No More Breaking Your Back!
I steamed my oven using the nozzle brush attachment. It did a great job getting all the grease and grime loose, and I was able to wipe it right up. No one likes scrubbing baked-on grease!
For those stubborn spots, just give them a good steaming and then grab a paper towel to wipe. The dirt and grease pick up right away – it’s disgusting and yet so satisfying! This works amazingly on your oven door and window too.
Look how amazingly clean my oven window is! You can do this to the whole oven. You can also use it to clean grills!
Appliance Handles & Interiors
Don’t forget to steam clean the handles on your dishwasher, refrigerator, and other kitchen appliances! These high-touch areas collect fingerprints, food residue, and germs. Just a quick blast of steam and a wipe with a microfiber cloth keeps them sanitary and sparkling.
The steamer also works wonders inside your refrigerator and freezer! I use it to clean shelves, drawers, and those hard-to-reach corners where spills and crumbs hide. The steam sanitizes without leaving any chemical residue that could contaminate your food. Just make sure to let the surfaces dry completely before returning food items.
Bathroom Deep Clean
Counters, Sinks, Backsplashes & Faucets
I steamed all these surfaces using the jet nozzle and wiped up with a microfiber cloth. Don’t forget to steam sanitize soap dispensers too – they can harbor lots of germs!
One thing I love is that it works on a variety of surfaces. I use it on my granite and my quartz counters.
Showers & Tubs
I used the large cleaning brush attachment to clean tile and grout in the shower. The squeegee attachment works great too!
Hard-to-Reach Areas
I used the nozzle brush attachment to clean the corners of my shower and the bottom of the shower door where grime tends to accumulate. These tight spaces are usually so hard to clean, but the steam attachment makes it simple.
Mold and Buildup
For areas with a little mold or buildup, I use the steamer to blast it right off. It’s incredibly satisfying to watch it all blow away with minimal effort. Once I’ve removed all the debris, I just take a little washcloth and wipe off the rest.
Glass Shower Doors
I added the squeegee attachment to clean my shower windows and doors. It makes the job so easy, leaving no streaks or residue. Just look at the difference – no chemicals, just steam! You can also clean regular windows and mirrors this way.
Soap Scum Simplified
Soap scum is awful and such a pain to scrub, but steam makes it really easy. I just steam it to loosen it up, and once it’s good and steamed, I take a microfiber cloth and wipe it right up. The before and after difference is stunning – from cloudy soap scum to nice and shiny clean!
Floor Cleaning that Actually Works
I used the extenders and large cleaning brush to steam clean my ceramic tile and grout floors. For laminate floors, I add the cleaning towel to this attachment. I’ve even used it to clean my wood floors with success (though you’ll want to read the instructions carefully as this steamer is not intended for all surfaces).
For stubborn grout stains, steam loosens dirt in seconds – no scrubbing needed! The floor attachment with a microfiber towel helps keep tile and grout much cleaner with regular maintenance.

Windows, Mirrors & Glass
I used the squeegee attachment to clean my glass shower walls and doors. This same technique works beautifully on regular windows and mirrors throughout your home.
For best results, I work from top to bottom. Start at the top and squeegee downward. You might notice a little steam left behind – it will dry on its own, or you can use a microfiber cloth to wipe it off. The reflection is crystal clear!
Sanitize High-Touch Surfaces
I used the sprayer to clean door handles and light switches throughout my home. Just steam and wipe with a clean cloth. Don’t forget refrigerator handles, dishwasher handles, and other frequently touched surfaces that can harbor germs.
Beyond the Basics: Surprising Uses
Upholstery Refresh
I cleaned my upholstery with the large cleaning brush. This works well on furniture as well as car upholstery. Steam not only cleans but refreshes fabric by removing odors and wrinkles.
For stubborn stains, a little steam and blotting with a microfiber cloth can lift them right out. This technique works on sofas, chairs, curtains, and even carpet stains!
Window Tracks
I steamed my window tracks and all that accumulated dirt wiped right up.
These are areas that often get neglected but collect a surprising amount of grime.
Metal Ducts, Vents & Blinds
I steamed my metal ducts and vents to remove dust buildup. This technique works well on metal blinds too – just steam and wipe clean. Your air quality will thank you!
Baseboards Without the Backache
I used the extensions and nozzle brush to clean my baseboards without breaking my back. The steam loosens dust and grime in those hard-to-reach places, making it easy to wipe away.
Mattress Sanitizing
Your mattress might look clean, but it can hold dust mites, bacteria, and odors. Steam cleaning kills germs naturally and sanitizes your entire mattress. Bonus: it freshens up your bed! Just make sure to let it dry completely before making your bed.
Deep Cleaning Trash Cans
Even if you use trash bags, your bin can get pretty gross. Steam makes sanitizing easy, leaving it fresh and bacteria-free.
Wrinkled Clothes
Have wrinkly clothes fresh from the dryer? When I’m already cleaning, I’ll steam some of my clothes that need a little touch-up. Just like that, they’re wrinkle-free!
Car Interior
Steam works great for your car too! Use it to clean upholstery, sanitize the steering wheel, clean your dashboard, and reach all those nooks and crannies. It’s safe, effective, and leaves no weird chemical smells.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Before you start steam cleaning everything in sight, here are three mistakes to avoid:
- Using tap water: You must use distilled water to prevent mineral buildup inside that could destroy your machine.
- Blasting delicate surfaces: Do not steam clean unsealed wood or electronics – too much moisture can damage them.
- Forgetting to let surfaces dry: Always allow proper drying time to prevent mold growth.
Final Thoughts
I hope this inspires you to try some steam cleaning of your own! It’s amazing how many different surfaces and items you can clean without any chemicals at all. Your home will be cleaner, healthier, and you’ll save money on cleaning products too.
