Instructions for a giant gingerbread man
1. Draw a gingerbread man shape onto the cardboard
I started by opening up the cardboard box so it lay flat. I drew a gingerbread man shape with a pencil and then traced it over it with a permanent marker. You can make your gingerbread man as big or small as you like.
2. Cut the gingerbread man out with a box cutter
I like to cut my cardboard outside so I don’t have to worry about the surface underneath the box while I’m cutting. You can cut your shape out with a box cutter, Xacto knife, or scissors.
I cut out 2 shapes so I could make more than one gingerbread man.
3. Decorate your gingerbread man
For my first gingerbread man, I added red bows to her chest and head, as well as a zig-zag ribbon to represent frosting and buttons for eyes with a pipe cleaner mouth.
For my second gingerbread man, placed 2 green bows on the chest, button eyes, pipe cleaner mouth, and zig-zag ribbon on the arms and legs. This one would be my boy.
Your gingerbread man and lady are ready for display. If you would like to keep them outside, be sure to spray them with a sealer or better yet dishwasher-safe Mod Podge.
I made a total of 4 gingerbread people to place on display.
