INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR chopped CELERY SALAD

Ingredients needed for celery salad

  • 4 cups celery chopped into chunky pieces – you can use the celery stalks, celery rib, celery leaves or celery sticks. If you don’t like the celery strings you can use a vegetable peeler to remove those before you cut the celery.
  • 2 cups green or black olives
  • 1/4 cup olive juice
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Wash, pull apart and cut celery then place in a large bowl.

Pull off all of the slices, and cut them into strips, Store celery in a sealed container with a little water to keep it crisp. Once you have chopped all of this up with a chef’s knife (make sure to use a sharp knife) on a cutting board, I sometimes place it in a freezer bag to use later in soup or stew. Don’t forget the root end too, that is lovely to eat. I love to add these ingredients to a dish to add some extra flavor. Take that celery and chop it into large chunks, dice celery, and put it in so many things like jambalaya, sauces, etc.
