People think dryer sheets always have to go in the dryer. But history shows that was never the case. Dryer sheets are a handy cleaning tool, but they don’t have to stay in the laundry room. Here are several different household uses for dryer sheets, from deodorizing drawers to cleaning scrub brushes. Read this list to find out how to use a dryer sheet in the kitchen. Watch this video.

Today we’re going to be talking about some dryer sheet hacks some of these will be with new and some of them will be with used dryer sheets it’s really your preference which you prefer to use.

If you’ve got some scissors and they’re just kind of gunky or they’re just not cutting, well grab one of those dryer sheets and rub it along the scissors. It’ll clean them up and sharpen them.

This is a really great hack for shoe odors cut a dryer sheet in half and place one in each of the shoes. This will help keep them smelling fresh and the odors down.

Pour some water into a container place a dryer sheet in the container with the water and let it sit for a minimum of 30 minutes. The longer you let it soak the better because it lets the fragrance out.

Then pour the whole thing into a spray bottle and add the lid, and it’s ready to use. What you have created is something that releases static cling so simply take the mixture and spray it on your clothes and it will release the static. You can also use it in your hair if you have static in your hair or anywhere

It also works as a wonderful to repel bugs, insects, and mosquitos in the summertime especially if you use lavender scent.

Now, this is a pan that I made some stew in and the bottom is burnt so here’s a little easy hack with those dryer sheets.

Take your dryer sheet and wipe out the inside and scrub away all the gunk. It’ll clean right up.

I’m going to take another dryer sheet and wipe it around the outside to release all of the fingerprints and marks from the stainless steel.

While I'm at it I'm also going to go ahead and clean out my sink from all the gunk and debris and it shines that sink right up.

These dryer sheets are fantastic for dusting they work great on TVs and computers. It works kind of like static, and it pulls the dust right off of those surfaces.

7. Use as an air freshener

You can hide dryer sheets in several places in your home to keep your home smelling fresh. I’ll be placing it into my couch and I just stick it way down in there and it will keep the room smelling fresh and you’ll never know it’s there. I’ll just change them out every once in a while.

Use a damp dryer sheet and you can use it to polish up your faucets.

While you’re at it go ahead and clean your entire sink. It’ll be amazing how it cleans off the soap scum Gunk and other items that are sitting around your faucet.

When you’re finished take that dryer sheet and throw it in your trash can. It’ll keep your trashcan smelling fresh. You can add these to your kitchen garbage cans as well.

Can dryer sheets be used as air freshener?

Another way to keep your bathroom smelling fresh is to fold up a dryer sheet and place it into the tube of your toilet paper roll. Then place the toilet paper roll back in it’ll keep that room smelling fresh.

Do dryer sheets clean shower doors?

If you’ve got soap scum on your shower door, these dryer sheets are a great way to clean the soap scum. It’s important to make sure that the dryer sheet is damp first because it’ll release some of the residues that are inside the dryer sheet to help work against the soap scum. It kind of is like soap working against soap and taking it right off.

Once you get it all scrubbed up go ahead and rinse it completely.

I grabbed this velcro base from the dollar store. I place two dryer sheets on them and tucked them into the spots on the other side to hold them in place. I put the handle in. What I’ve made myself is an easy broom

Why do people put dryer sheets in drawers?

Take those dryer sheets and add them to your drawers it’ll keep your clothes smelling nice and fresh.

Keep your sheets smelling fresh by folding the first sheet, placing the dryer sheet in the middle, and then placing the next sheet on top of the pillowcase.

Then put the whole set into another pillowcase this will keep your entire set together which is great for storage.  With the dryer sheet in there I'll keep it smelling nice and fresh for when you're ready to use them.

Place a dryer sheet in your luggage and gym bags when you’re storing it next time you open it will smell nice and fresh.

Use old dryer sheets to wipe down your blinds it works great and works just like that static again pulling that dust right off there and into the dryer sheet.

18. CLean up Pet hair

19. Store in your car, crawl space, etc

Keep the squirrels, and mice away by placing dryer sheets in your car and storage places.

If you don't have a vacuum cleaner that can do this easily well you can go grab one of these little swifter things at the dollar store and add one of your used dryer sheets to it.  Simply wipe your baseboards off with that dryer sheet and the dust clings to it and then when you're done throw that dryer sheet away.

21. Keep the mildew smell away

Place dryer sheets in places that tend to have musty odors. Places like old wooden boxes and furniture, basements, etc.

22. Blot up STains

Use old dryer sheets to blot up stains and spills quickly.

23. Get rid of a Deodorant Stain

If you get a deodorant stain on your clothes, grab a dryer sheet and rub it against the grain of the fabric. The stain will come right off.

Once the time has past, vacuum as usual.

24. Add a Dryer sheet to your vacuum cleaner

After everything was dry, we hung it back up and absolutely love it!

25. Clean your ceiling fans

You can clean dust and dirt off of your cleaning fans by using a little elbow grease and wiping down those blades. Can’t reach it? No problem, use that broom from the baseboards and floor to reach and wipe them down. You can find the tutorial of this fan update at Update Your Ceiling Fan

26. Keep some dryer sheets with our camping gear

These are great to put in your tents to keep the gnats and bugs away. They’re also great to keep bugs and rodents out of your sleeping bags when you’re not using them.

Use a chamois to wipe your car off for a streak free finish. Start with the windows first, then wipe the rest of the car from top to bottom.

27. Clean your car glass

Place a towel in the bottom of your bath tub to protect your tub. Lay your oven racks on top of the towel. Add 1/2 cup dish soap (like Castile or Dawn) and fill the tub with hot water just until it covers the oven racks. Let them soak for 8 hours. The dish soap is cutting through all that grease.

Place your oven racks in a bathtub on a towel. Fill the tub until the water covers the racks. Add Dawn soap and dryer sheets and let soak for 8 hours.   2. Thanks for all the Dryer Sheets Tips, Tricks and Hacks! I’m always looking for any deep cleaning HOW TO’S…. I use dryer Sheets in my washer for every load not only does it help with lent that builds up in the washer from getting on your clothes it helps with static before they go into the dryer, and for the clothing that doesn’t go in the dryer and I have to hang them to line dry.. I’m desperately searching for a Hack that cleans my hair brush? I know there has to be something easier than the regular old school way of pulling the hair off the bristles, but it doesn’t remove the lint from my brush. I have very thick hair and so much hair, and my daughter has the same hair problem and she definitely has my genes. It is and does get expensive replacing our hair brushes every month or every other month. Please Help me out with this one….. Thanks for sharing ALL OF YOUR AWESOME IDEAS, TIPS, TRICKS AND HACKS!!     1. You are so very sweet, thank you so much for the kind words. I’ll dig into removing hair from a hairbrush and see if I can figure out an easy way.

      1. I have seen a hack that you press a dryer sheet down over the bristles, you cut the over hanging dryer sheet. Then when hair is accumulated just pull the sheet off and off comes the hair. As you brush, It also prevents you from having the static cling in your hair, specially in winter.
