I put fresh water inside of the bottle.

I then placed the full water bottle upside down on the ground near my plant. The water will stay inside the bottle and the ground will pull it out as it needs it. This is especially great in potted plants both inside and out.

You can do this for any dry item like beans and cereal as well. One great thing that I loved to do when my kids were younger was put their cereal inside these. This way they could help learners to make their own breakfast and the box wasn't spilled everywhere. You can even make small containers of milk in the fridge so they can pour easily too. (remember the watering can? My kids were fascinated by pouring their milk into their cereal that way).
