The dollar section in Target is always fun to look at and they always have fun serving trays. I found a raw wood serving tray and I was so excited to upcycle it for my home!

I painted on Folk Art Home Decor Wood Tint in the color Walnut with my Plaid paint brush.

After painting each section until it was fully covered, I let it sit for 30 seconds or more, and I wiped excess off with a old rag cloth.

I let it dry completely and I love how it brought out the texture of in the wood. I am so in love with this stain and the best part is that it's water based!

I left it as is, and you could put a top coat on if you like to protect it.

Instructions

  • Paint the wood tray with Folk Art Home Decor Wood Tint in the color Walnut using a paint brush.
  • Paint each section until it’s fully covered.
  • Let it sit for 30 seconds or more, and wipe off any excess with a old rag cloth. 
  • Let it dry completely.
  • Decorate with your beautiful upcycled wood tray!

    Fantastic Target score! I would have grabbed the tray too, so much you can do with them. Stain, paint mod podge . . . Like having these for just as you have styled, snacks and reading material. Also like when doing projects, keeps items together and easy to move if not finished. Makes a wonderful gift idea too, maybe with a stencil or phrase on it. So many possibilities!
