Easy Pilgrim Hat Centerpiece
How do you make a simple Thanksgiving centerpiece? How can I decorate my Thanksgiving dinner table? I’m sharing an easy pilgrim hat centerpiece and it only cost me $3.

I started with an ice bucket and charger from Dollar Tree.
You could also use a flower pot and serving platter. You might even be able to find items you already have or at a thrift store.
I took them outside and spray painted them with Rustoleum black spray paint.
I made sure to look for a paint that had the paint and primer included and was good for plastic.
While the paint was drying I picked up some fresh fallen leaves, a mini pumpkin from my garden, and a pinecone.
You could easily use faux items as well.

I had purchased a white table runner from Dollar Tree as well. I cut a small strip from the runner.
I used fabric instead of ribbon due to the slant of the ice bucket. Ribbon can sometimes be stiff and not as flexible, and fabric is more forgiving.
I knew the fabric would fray so I used a lighter and scored the edges.
Once the ice bucket and charger paint was dry, I brought them back inside.
I hot glued the strip of fabric around the top of the ice bucket.
I had some gold glittery ribbon, and I cut 4 strips of it.
I hot glued the strips onto the white band to be the buckle of the hat.
Now it was time to assemble the hat and create the centerpiece.
I started by putting the ice bucket upside down on the charger plate.
I added the items I had collected outside on the hat.
The hat was ready to be placed on my dining room table.

Tania
Thank you so much, I’m thrilled you like it and want to make one 🙂
As usual you are very clever and creative and it’s easily storable because it comes apart. Do have a ? for you though – love your wood table – do you leave it bare or will you cover it with a tablecloth for Thanksgiving (or placemants). I am not doing Thanksgiving as we’re dining ‘out’ this year. Always love your ideas. Ticia
Thank you Ticia, I’m so glad you like it. I have done both, so we have put a table cloth on it, or we put placemats on it. My table was my grandmother’s and it’s over 100 years old. We try to protect it when we eat on it 🙂 Thank you for the kind words – sending hugs to you!
This Pilgrim Hat turned out so cute! Such a great idea and easy craft.
