Upcycled Thrift Store Heart Table

Upcycled Thrift Store Heart Table

I found this amazing heart side table at Manna Thrift Store in Grand Lake, CO.  (Hi Frank)  It just needed a little love and face lift so I upcycled it with a little paint, glaze, and wall sticker.

Here is the original table. The wood on top was in super shape, but the bottom needed a little help.

I started by cleaning the piece and tightening it up.

I then painted the entire bottom with Dixie Belle Fluff paint. It took 2 coats because of the dark color and I let it dry between each coat.

Once both coats were painted I let it dry overnight.

I then mixed together Valspar Clear Mixing Glaze with Dixie Belle Hurricane Gray Paint.

I painted this on in small sections and then wiped it off with a small baby wipe.

This helped give the table some depth and accented the indents.

I had some wall stickers from Dollar Tree that I had been wanting to use. I placed them on the bottom shelf of the table.

After the glazed dried, I painted on 3 coats of Dixie Belle Clear Coat.

I’m so excited with how it turned out, it’s going to be great gift for my family for Valentine’s Day!

I have to send a huge thanks to Texas Canvas Wares for this amazing Apron!  I have used it for so many projects already and this was one of them (you can see me wearing it in the pictures above).  It’s so very durable, great for all kinds of projects, has pockets, adjustable straps, tool holders, etc.  Even a pocket for your phone with strap (this helps me when I’m taking photos or videos in action).  It’s a fantastic quality apron if you are needing one.  You can find it here – Waxed Canvas Heavy Duty Work Apron With Pockets – Deluxe Edition – with Quick Release Buckle Adjustable up to XXL for Men and Women

  • Hi Chaz,
You sound upbeat this morning and doing well. Orthopedic surgery is never easy and using crutches is the pits. Happy to hear your recovery is going so well. Love the heart table, good job. Take care.
