Don’t you think it looks like a pumpkin?

I added the batteries and placed the strand of lights into the glass jar.

I bought some battery operated lights at the Target Dollar Spot.

I had a drawer knob laying around, so I poked it through the cork lid that came with it.

You can find drawer knobs at a number of stores like:

I left it like this for a while and decided I wanted to try something else to upcycle this thrift store find.

I used Rustoleum Mirror Effect spray paint and I painted the inside of the pumpkin.

I cleaned the glass jar inside by washing it and then wiping it with rubbing alcohol so that the paint would stick.

I painted one light coat, let it dry, then sprayed another light coat, and repeated these steps until I got the look I wanted.

Once it was dry I added a battery operated LED light with a timer to the inside.

You could use a battery operated strand of lights as well.

I added the lid back on and it was ready to go!

Because I painted the inside, I could place this outside on a covered porch.

Water might be able to get inside due to the cork and around it.

I would recommend sealing the cork and create a sealing around the lid.

Here's a picture of it at night and I love the glow.
