So you’ve been thinking about diy projects you can easily tackle that will give your bedroom new life. But where do you start? It’s not always easy to know what will work best in a small space, especially if it’s the only room in your apartment or house. The good news is, we have some ideas on how to update your bedroom! Follow these simple steps, and soon you’ll be enjoying a new look without breaking the bank.

The first step is to add some personality to your bedroom by hanging art on the walls. This can be anything from a gallery wall of family photos to an interesting piece of abstract art. Just make sure that you hang it at the right height – eye level if possible – so that you can enjoy it every day.

Next, you should consider updating your lighting. A little light can go a long way to making your bedroom feel cozy. Maybe it’s time for a new bedside lamp or overhead light fixture? Or maybe you want to try statement pendant lights in the center of the room? Either way, choose something that will make your bedroom stand out when night falls. If this is not possible with existing fixtures, then use lamps and indirect lighting instead.

Lastly, one of the quickest and easiest ways to update your bedroom is with a fresh coat of paint. A new coat of organic paint can completely transform a room, so it’s worth considering. If you’re not sure what color to choose, then take a look at some inspirational photos online or in magazines. You might want to go for a bold color or maybe something more neutral – it all depends on your taste. Just make sure that you pick a paint that will stand up to everyday wear and tear. Organic paint is a safe alternative to conventional interior paint. Painting can sometimes feel like quite a task, so be sure to have a look at this nifty project planning guide to help you along!

What is organic paint?

Organic paint is eco-friendly and non-toxic. Organic paints don’t contain the toxic chemicals that many other paints have. These chemicals have been linked to long-term health effects. In addition, organic paints are either low VOC paints or zero VOC paints (volatile organic compounds). They are safe paints. They are just one product in the growing list of eco-friendly products in response to consumer demand for non-toxic paint.

Is there any organic paint?

Organic paints are considered natural paints and are made with organic ingredients. They usually consist of natural ingredients like water, milk, plants, plant oil, resins, etc. They’re non-toxic, have low odor, and have no fumes while painting, unlike many conventional paints. They will help you maintain healthy indoor air quality with no toxic emissions associated with that new paint smell.

Milk Paint is an organic paint made from natural ingredients. These ingredients include milk casein (milk protein), clay, earth pigments, and lime.  In addition to Milk paint, there are several other small paint companies making new paints in small batches that are made with natural pigments. Check out ECOS paints, Earth Pigments, and Clare Paint just to name a few.

Many paint manufacturers such as Benjamin Moore are Sherwin Williams are making safe paint with no harmful chemicals.

Many of these organic paints are available in paint stores, but they are also readily available online.

Some of the types of paint that you can choose from are as follows:

  • Natural latex and latex paint
  • Chalk paint which has a rough chalky finish
  • Never get anything with lead paint as it has health risks
  • Acrylic Paint is a water-based paint
  • Natural earth paint paint
