As you all know I love DIY projects, especially fall decorations. Fall is my favorite season and as the colors of fall emerge it is a perfect time to find different ways to change your home decor. This DIY farmhouse sign is a great way to get that farmhouse look and some country charm for your front porch or front door.

1. Place window cling on galvanized sign

I found this super cute galvanized sign at the Dollar Tree in Crafter Square. You can also find something similar at the dollar store or perhaps Hobby Lobby. I’m just removing the tag to get us started. You’re gonna love just how easy it is to personalize this sign, with little to no effort and the best part is you’re gonna be able to update it as the seasons change.

I'm just going to start with these fall window clings, but you can customize it for any season.

I’m just going to start with these fall window clings, but you can customize it for any season. I found these at Dollar Tree also. I will start with this one right here. The first thing you will want to do is peel the back off the window cling. Sometimes these window clings can be a little challenging to peel off. I am going to add it right here to the trunk of the car and I am just going to leave it like that. You could also add small pumpkins inside the pickup truck and you can layer these however you want.

This is a really easy DIY idea of how you can personalize this galvanized sign and again you can change it up for any season. Let me show you just a few more options and examples.

1. Measure magnetic paper for the size needed

What if the window clings don’t stick or I want to use a print out?

1. Measure magnetic paper for the size needed

What happens if your window clings won’t stick? Let’s talk about what your options are. This is a magnetic sheet you can get at craft stores. I have taken a strip and set this on with the black side down, which is the magnetic side.

2. Cut the magnetic paper

2. Cut the magnetic paper

I want to give myself a little room so I can see these lines and make a little mark so I know where to cut. I will also need to slide it back down to see where else I need to cut. This might be a little hard to see. You can also try making a template from a piece of paper.

3. Put glue on the magnetic sheet

Once you have it cut out, use a glue stick or hot glue to hold it in place.

4. Place the window cling or print out on the glue

Now just stick the window clings or a sign you make of your choice onto the magnet and the magnet sticks right on. It’s a little more solid this way.

5. Place the magnet onto the galvanized sign.

I hope this inspires you to upcycle a sign and make your own DIY farmhouse fall decor. This is an easy way to provide a warm welcome with a farmhouse feel!
