Up-Cycle An Outdated Lazy Susan

Furniture

Share it with others!

We picked these colors to match our kitchen.

I found this old Lazy Susan at Good Will for $2.  I grabbed it fast because I knew just how to up-cycle it for my kitchen table with Dixie Belle Paint & Stencils!

Here is the before picture.

You’ll need:

Dixie Belle Silver Metallic Base Coat

Dixie Belle Silver Metallic Top Coat

Dixie Belle Blue

Celtic Circle Stencil

First you'll paint on the Dixie Belle Silver Metallic Base Coat using 2 coats, letting dry completely between each coat.

 Dixie Belle Gator Hide

When you have gotten the desired look with the silver, let it dry completely.

Place your Celtic Circle Stencil where you want it and set painter’s tape on it to hold it in place.  Dab paint the Dixie Belle Blue onto the Celtic Stencil

This is beautiful, Chas! I don’t have or really need a lazy susan on my table, but I have them 4 of them in my corner cupboards. The top cupboard ones are plastic, but the bottom one with 2 shelves is particle board. It’s huge and heavy. I’ve been on a “mission” to fix it up. It lost the vinyl rim around the bottom shelf so I decided to fix it. We used left over tiles from a vinyl floor to cut new sides and I painted the whole thing. It’s not done yet, but it’s getting there. You’ve inspired me to finish it!

Thank you Linda, and I’m glad that this idea inspired you. I LOVE the tip about using them in your cupboards!!! I have also used them with cans on top and place craft and school supplies in them. (Especially in the summer when the kids are out of school.)
