👓 Safety First: Don’t forget eye and ear protection when engraving—especially with glass or metal.

1. Engraving Glass

Tool Used: Plaid Engraver
Surface: Dollar Tree glass jar
Stencil: “Thirsty”

Steps:

  1. Apply adhesive stencil to the jar.
  2. Color in the stencil with a dry erase marker.
  3. Peel off the stencil to reveal your guide.
  4. Use the sharp engraving tip on the Plaid tool to trace over the marker.
  5. Smooth edges using the buffer tip.
  6. Clean the surface—and that’s it!

I’m using mine for loose leaf tea, but you can easily do this for coffee, treats, or pantry labels too!

2. Engraving Plastic And Acrylic

Stencil: “Cheers”

Steps:

  1. Stick the stencil on and fill it in with dry erase marker.
  2. Peel the stencil and engrave slowly over the marker lines.
  3. Wipe off residue with a soft cloth.
  4. (Optional) Fill with drink mix or liquid to better see the design!

💡 Tip: The Plaid engraver is quieter than the Dremel, so it’s nice for plastic or thinner items.

3. Engraving Ceramic

Tools Used: Dremel Engraver + Plaid Engraver
Surface: Glazed ceramic mug
Stencil/Text: “DAD”

Steps:

  1. Use stencils to outline “DAD” (Sharpie may work better than dry erase on glaze).
  2. Start engraving lightly with the Dremel. It has a dial for speed control.
  3. If the Dremel doesn’t cut deeply, switch to the Plaid tool with a ball tip to get through the glaze.
  4. Switch between tools and tips to define and clean up the lines.
  5. Finish with the buffer tip for a polished look.
