You can decorate shoes and take them from boring to fun! I am taking 4 inexpensive sets of shoes and giving them a facelift. This is a fun way to decorate your favorite shoes with your favorite colors.
Materials Needed To Decorate Shoes:
Decorating Shoe Instructions
1. Decorating Shoes with Rhinestones
I started with a plain pair of flip-flops from the dollar store. You could do this project with any pair of shoes you like.
I purchased a package of adhesive rhinestone stickers. These pulled off the backing nicely and in one solid row so I didn’t have to put them on individually. I put them along one side of the strap and then repeated it on the other side.
I love how easy it was to decorate these shoes. I know things like this sell in the store for anywhere from $10 and up. I did much better than that!
2. Remove the decoration you don’t want
I found these shoes at a thrift store brand new for $1. I didn’t like the leaf decorations but I did like the pom pom.
I used sharp scissors to remove the leaves from both shoes. I gave the pom a fluff to spread out where the leaves were.
The straps are white. I decided to leave them plain, but I could glue them on a stand of black ribbon to create a black strip down the sides.
3. Give Plain Slippers and Update
I have a friend who is having a baby and I’m not only giving her a baby shower gift but a little gift to pamper herself. I purchased a very simple and inexpensive pair of slippers.
I used some adhesive jewel stickers to add a little something to the slippers. You could also glue on bows.
This would also be great for birthdays, wedding showers, or mother’s day gifts.
4. Decorate Shoes with Markers
I started with these plain flip-flops I’ll be giving to my daughter for her birthday. I wanted something a little more with the yellow straps.
I used a marker but you could also use paint or nail polish. I wanted to replicate a bee’s strips, so I started by making small stripe marks with my marker. Then I colored in the strips to widen them.
My daughter’s nickname is B, and I think she’ll like these and wear them around this summer.
What a fun way to give your boring old shoes a facelift. So many different ways to create your own style in so many creative ways. Create your own designs using different colors or bright colors.
