Do you want some home project makeover ideas? There are many different reasons why you’d want to give your home a make-over - whether that means you’ve grown tired of your previous decor choices or are preparing to sell the property and want to make the best possible impression on potential buyers.

With that in mind, here are some cheap (and easy) ways to transform your home!

Have you wondered how to purge and declutter your home? Decluttering your home can be surprisingly challenging if you try to tackle it all in a single day. One of the golden rules of cleaning up your home is to take it slow and steady.
  • Deep clean your home, working your way through the property one room at a time. Pay attention to the areas you may not clean as often, such as skirting boards and ceilings.
  • Think realistically about how much money you are willing and able to spend on renovations and put together a budget. This could mean that you need to delay plans slightly to save up a little money over time.
  • Once you’ve put together a budget, write down a list of all of the tasks you wish to complete – and give yourself a realistic timeframe for completion. For example, while it would be great to get everything done in one weekend – there is no point in rushing the process. Take your time to ensure that you get the job done right the first time.
  • Keep track of any purchases that you make (keeping hold of your receipts). This means that you are less likely to overspend and land yourself in a difficult financial situation.
I let it dry for 24 hours and now it sits on a table on my front porch. This is just one way to use solar lights outside.
  • Instead of forking out cash on new and expensive furniture, try to buy second-hand whenever possible. Keep an eye out on local groups such as Facebook marketplace, or Buy it, Sell it, Swap it.
I'm so excited with how it turned out, it's going to be great gift for my family for Valentine's Day!
  • While decluttering is important, think carefully about whether or not you could still make use of an item before throwing it away. For example, you could breathe new life into old items through upcycling. This is also a great way to reduce waste and protect the planet for future generations – it also means that your furniture is entirely unique.
  • Instead of sending old items to landfills, try to resell them first. This means that you could earn some extra cash to put towards your own renovations. Alternatively, you can also donate pre-loved items to local thrift stores or charities – as they are always on the lookout for quality donations.
  • Find new ways to make your home your own by adding unique, personalized touches. For example, this could include hanging photographs or even letting children create their own artwork for your walls. Don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd and try something new!
  • Try to allow as much natural light into your home as possible. Not only will this help a small space seem much bigger, studies suggest that it can also lift your mood considerably. One way in which you can do this is by ditching old curtains in favor of something more lightweight.
  • Brighten up any room in your house by creating a feature wall. Whether this means you hang wallpaper on a particular wall or paint one wall in a contrasting color. Though relatively simple, this can completely transform the way the room looks.
  • Find a way to get the whole family involved in the decorating process. Whether that means they grab a paintbrush or clean out the basement –  this can save you a great deal of time and money in the long run.
  • When making changes to your property – don’t forget to show your garden and lawn a bit of love too. For example, repainting your garden fence can give your home a whole new look.
