Welcome to Chassa Crazy Creations! Another trip to Dollar Tree and I’m going to share some of these easy DIYs. Let’s get started!

Painted Tree Candle DIY [0:00-0:44]

Grab a dollar store tall candle like this. Grab some Apple Barrel paint pens and start with the brown and draw the base of a tree. Add some branches and color it in. I added a red heart in the center of the tree trunk, then I added a variety of colors and started coloring in leaves all over the rest of the tree. I added leaves that fall to the ground as well as some on the ground as well. I had fun using a variety of colors of red, orange, yellow, green and more. This is an easy craft that anyone can do and it makes a great gift for anyone to take home after your holiday celebration as well.

Fabric Pumpkin Project [0:55-1:42]

Another great thing are their fabric pumpkins and you can add these to your centerpiece on your table super easily. Or grab some of their fabric and then grab some of their styrofoam pumpkins and you can do this yourself.

I started with one of their styrofoam pumpkins. Next I grabbed a couple different options for fabric but I decided to go with more of the checkered one. I removed the stem in the center and to my surprise it revealed a hollow pumpkin which was perfect for this project. I opened up my fabric and placed the pumpkin on the wrong side of the fabric. I worked my way around the pumpkin pulling the fabric up and stuffing it into the center of the pumpkin. Lastly I added a stick for the stem and a leaf.

Window Cling Decorations [1:42-1:59]

Window clings are great and you can add these to candle holders, to glasses and more. For this project I used candle holders and window clings. I placed the window clings on the candle holders and then placed candles inside. You could use battery operated tea lights if you prefer and now I have easy fall candles that I can put on my table if I wish.

Rub-On Transfer Picture Frame [2:01-2:42]

You can also buy these rub on transfers that go onto your glassware and then they are removable after the event is finished. For this easy DIY you’re going to need a rub on transfer and a dollar store picture frame. These frames are double painted and come with two pieces of glass. I took the decal rub on transfer and I removed the backing off and placed it onto the glass and then I rubbed over it with a card. I then carefully peeled off the front and then added the second piece of glass on top so the glass pieces were against each other protecting the transfer in the center. I put the frame back together and I had an easy fall sun catcher. Use a dry erase marker and add a name to the glass and you have a place marker.

Pumpkin Canister [2:45-3:00]

I found these canisters at Dollar Tree – doesn’t this look just like a pumpkin? All I have to do is add a cork to the top and I’ve got myself a DIY pumpkin.

Thanksgiving Activities [3:00-3:35]

If you’re looking for things to do during the Thanksgiving weekend grab some of these activity books – there’s something for everyone here. In addition to that go ahead and look around and grab some games. I was able to find Uno for my family as well as dominoes and checkers. They have fun color form games that keep all your pieces together. There’s a variety of puzzles, learning games and more so go get a cart full and use them for your Thanksgiving get together.

DIY Game Ideas [3:35-4:30]

In addition to that stop by the Dollar Plus section and you can find some of these knockoff games that are very familiar. Grab a tumble Tower package and let’s get started on this fun DIY game. I grabbed my wood burning tool and I engraved a bunch of names into each of the pieces. I put the game together and with each piece that’s removed you say something that resembles what that word is.

You can also grab feathers from the crafter’s corner section and then grab a colorful tub which they have great fall colors right now and play a feather in the bucket game – toss the feather and have it land into the bucket. Grab one of these Tic Tac Toe games, have your family help make it and then enjoy playing it.

Gratitude Frame [4:14-4:30]

For this project you’re going to need a picture frame. Place a napkin on the backboard and a little metal sign, put the frame back together. Use a dry erase marker to write things that you’re grateful for. This is a great activity during the holidays – once you’re done erase and you can reuse again and again every year.

Tree Branch Candle [4:30-4:50]

For this project you can use one of those tall candles or you can use an LED pillar candle and you’ll want to grab some contact paper. Measure and cut your contact paper to fit around the candles, place the contact paper onto the candles and then use some black paint to make some tree marks on it. You now have faux tree branch candles.

Fingerprint Tree Canvas [4:50-5:02]

For this next project you’re going to need a dollar store canvas. Start by dry or painting on a tree trunk then dip fingers in paint to create the leaves. This will be a great heirloom that you can bring out every year.

Plaster Pumpkin Decorating [5:02-5:51]

These plaster pumpkins were super fun and let me show you a little fun DIY that I made with these white pumpkins. I grabbed a white pumpkin and then I grabbed some Apple Barrel paint markers. You press the top to let the ink flow into the tip and then you color away. This would be a great project you could make table markers with these or just a great project for the family to get involved with that day together and they can take it home with them. I painted each section in a variety of colors – you could paint this any way you want.

You can also buy these smooth ceramic pumpkins, grab a dry erase marker and you can do things like write people’s names on them to serve as place markers. You can also draw faces on them or write fall words on them, erase and use again and again.

Let me know what you think of this in the comments below!

Centerpiece Ideas [5:51-7:25]

I also love these little silver trays – these would be great as a centerpiece. All you have to do is add a few other dollar store supplies. For example, you could use these apples – now they look like wood but they’re actually ceramic. In addition to that they have these other apples and you could store supplies or candy or treats inside of those.

Another idea are these glass squash dishes – now you could again put treats in them or you could put a battery operated tealight in them to create a beautiful centerpiece. Or you could use these Apple dishes and I know they say teacher inside but you could fill them with some potpourri or some treats or some cinnamon sticks – your choice.

And here’s an easy DIY: I’m going to place these LED lights into my tray. Next I’ve just gathered some pine cones for free outside and I’m placing them into the tray around the lights. Turn them on and you can see a beautiful glow. Now I used orange lights but you could also use any color of your choice. As an optional step I can add some cinnamon essential oil to the pine cones to create that lovely cinnamon smell for my home and I’ve created an easy beautiful centerpiece for my table.

Candle Projects [7:00-7:25]

Dollar Tree has amazing candles in a variety of scents. You can get tea lights, jarred candles – any of these can create amazing DIYs or centerpieces for your home. For this project I grabbed a dollar store candle and some cinnamon sticks. I hot glue the cinnamon sticks around the candle and then I can use it either in my home anywhere as fall decor or I could place it on my table as a centerpiece. It makes a great gift idea as well.

More Decor Options [7:25-8:17]

You can always grab one of these 3D wooden pumpkins and then you can paint it, add fabric to it, add stickers to it and create a lovely centerpiece. And the great thing about this is it’ll collapse and fold down for your storage for the season.

There are also tons of crafts available for you to just grab and go and create. The stacking pumpkins are back and I love that they collapse. Now you can add lights to these, you can decorate them however you want and they come in two colors – they come in all orange or they come in a white, yellow and orange.

And guess what – you can buy two get one free of my books right now! Look for the link in the description below.

And guess what – the pumpkins come in white this year too! Now I could think of a lot of things to do with these – turn them into ghosts, turn them into snowmen, so these could be a multi-seasonal use.

Table Setting Ideas [8:17-9:05]

And if you’re looking to DIY your tablescape this holiday season you can pick from:

  • Pumpkin dishes
  • Leaf dishes
  • Home dishes
  • Placemats or DIY your own placemats with their felt pieces
  • Oven mitts that say hello Pumpkin (or grab the blank ones and either add stickers, rub on transfers or stencil it yourself)
  • Gnome pot holder
  • Cute salt and pepper shakers
  • Variety of chargers (these will go great underneath your dish set)

One of the things I like about these is they can be used for every holiday and every season again and again. And oh look, I just found another set! This home for the holiday season is great because it has all the colors you would need to celebrate the holiday season – you get more bang for your buck.
