Aluminum Foil Hacks
Clean Silver
Clean silverware, and silver pieces, polish silverware, and household items with a sheet of aluminum foil. I placed water in a pot. I added a sheet of foil to the bottom and pot, and 1 Tablespoon of baking soda to the water. I brought that to a full boil.
I dipped the silver spoon into the boiling water for a few seconds. It was fascinating to watch the chemical reaction and silver tarnish come off the spoon so incredibly fast.
I removed the silver spoon out and let it cool. You can find the full tutorial of all of my silver cleaning hacks at 6 Astonishing and Winning Cleaning Silver Hacks
Clean off a hot glue gun
I wadded up a piece of foil and as my hot glue gun was cooling I pulled off the hot glue to clean the gun.
Seal a plastic bag
I had an open plastic pasta bag that doesn’t seal.
I placed a cloth and sheet of aluminum foil onto my table to protect my surface. I took a bit of aluminum foil and folded it over the plastic.
I turned on my iron, and made sure the steam was turned off. I let it heat up on the cotton cycle. I placed the iron on the aluminum foil and waited a few moments.
I removed the tinfoil and the plastic had been fused or melted together.
I love this little hack.
Iron both sides of clothes at once
I placed sheets of aluminum foil over a cloth to protect my surface. I ironed a dress and with the aluminum foil underneath it ironed the bottom while I was ironing the top. So you get both sides done at the same time, what a time saver.
Eco Friendly Wrapping Paper
Most wrapping paper cannot be recycled. I used tinfoil to wrap a gift. I started by rolling it out and cutting strips of aluminum foil.
I was able to wrap the present and the foil held itself together, I didn’t have to use any tape.
I added a bow, and I reuse my bows. You could also use twine, string, or other eco-friendly items if you like. This is great for any holiday or occasion.

Clean out wax from candle holders
You can use aluminum foil to help clean wax out of a candle holder. I had some wax in a candle holder so I made tin foil balls and I used one to scrape out the wax with it.
Make a faux mercury glass candle holder
I cut a small piece of tinfoil that would fit inside the above candle holder.
I used a punch and poked small holes into a piece of tin foil. I just made a random pattern and made as many holes as I felt like making.
I placed the aluminum foil inside the candle holder, and then I placed a battery-operated tealight in the center of the candle holder.
I could have left it as it was, but I placed the smaller candle holder inside a larger bud vase I had picked up at the thrift store.
I love the mercury glass effect and glow this candle holder creates, and on a budget.
Create beautiful art
I placed a piece of paper onto a piece of tin foil to protect my surface.
I place some art foil onto the top of the piece of paper and taped it down to hold it in place.
I turned my hot pen on and wrote onto the foil.
I peeled up the foil and you can see how the gold where I went over with the hot pen was left behind.
I made this for myself and put it in my crafting area. I love that you can create art with this as well as make your own cards for so many occasions.
