15 Ways To Use Rubbing Alcohol

You all know I love cleaning and researching different and better ways to do it. I have 15 ways to use rubbing alcohol to share with you.

You all know I love cleaning and researching different and better ways to do it.  I have 15 ways to use rubbing alcohol to share with you. The great thing about rubbing alcohol is that it kills bacteria and disinfection. Just a spritz on a variety of surfaces can clean countertops, remove bugs from your windshield, etc. Let’s cover a few rubbing alcohol hacks.

Mix together 2 parts rubbing alcohol with 1 part Aloe Vera gel.

Hand Sanitizer –

Mix together 2 parts rubbing alcohol with 1 part Aloe Vera gel.

Place in a container and it's ready to use.

Place rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle. Spray it inside shoes to fight off odors and disinfect them.

Deodorize & Disinfect Shoes –

Place rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle. Spray it inside shoes to fight off odors and disinfect them.

Spray rubbing alcohol onto your white board, and wipe off with a paper towel.

Clean Dry Erase Boards –

Spray rubbing alcohol onto your white board, and wipe off with a paper towel.

Make sure your computer is off. Dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and rub onto your keys to clean them.

Disinfect and Clean Keyboard –

Make sure your computer is off. Dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and rub onto your keys to clean them.

Clean Eye Glasses –

Spray rubbing alcohol onto your eyeglasses and wipe off with a microfiber cloth.

Put a little rubbing alcohol onto a microfiber cloth and rub onto the glass of your phone or table to clean and disinfect it.

Clean & Disinfect Phone and Tablets –

Put a little rubbing alcohol onto a microfiber cloth and rub onto the glass of your phone or table to clean and disinfect it.

Pour rubbing alcohol into a sealing baggie, and place in your freezer. Alcohol freezes at a much colder temperature than water and this allows your ice pack to get cold but remain flexible. When ready to use, pull it out, put the baggie on a cloth to protect the skin, and place it on the injury. Once you're finished, put it back in the freezer to be used again.

Place rubbing alcohol into a squirt bottle and add several drops of an essential oil of your choice. This makes a fantastic air fresher, and you can use it on your beds and pillows to disinfect them. You can also do this without the essential oil if you like.

There are different percentages of rubbing alcohol. For sanitizing 60% and up is recommended. For this post and video I used 90%.

Are you ready for another trick? Check these out

  •  Cleans makeup brushes

      I tried the alcohol and sprayed inside my shoes to disinfect and remove odor.
      It’s been 6 hrs. and went to smell shoes.
      Didn’t change the inside of my shoes to smell better.

    I had to come and read to see if I knew any of these ways to use rubbing alcohol. I use vinegar for many of them. Seems they do similar things.

      Thank you Janet, I use a lot of vinegar too. Some are concerned that vinegar isn’t considered a disinfectant yet – not on the approved list. This is just another way to clean that is on the germ killer list officially.

    Excellent ideas! Rubbing alcohol is a great disinfectant and tons cheaper than hand sanitizers. We’ve used rubbing alcohol for years for many of the same applications as you. Thanks for featuring these life hacks using an ever day product found in one’s medicine cabinet. Have a good day.

    Great tips! Very timely post, LOL. Another use for alcohol is to soak paint brushes that acrylic paint on them that has hardened. I looked for some over the weekend for this very purpose and with the virus thing going on, no rubbing alcohol anywhere in the stores!
