Pancake bars ingredients

These pancake bars are a real treat and one of my best time-saving tips for busy school mornings. There is no standing over an electric griddle to make these. While the bars are baking, I focus on other morning tasks. Try making a big batch and use leftovers in the afternoons as a snack with yogurt and fresh fruit.

My favorite part of this easy pancake bar recipe is making them on birthdays. This recipe is perfect for birthday sleepovers. Everyone can stay in their pjs and while the pancakes are in the oven, I like to prepare a pancake serving table with toppings and juice. Guests can all eat at the same time with this baking method.

You can find out the history of pancakes at Here’s the History of Pancakes.

How do you store pancake bars?

After the pancake bars have cooled, store them in an airtight container or wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for up to a week. If you want to store them longer, you can freeze the pancakes for up to three months. If storing longer in the freezer, be sure to wrap them well in plastic wrap and then place them in a freezer-safe bag or container.

Are pancake bars the same as sheet pan pancakes?

Yes, pancake bars and sheet pan pancakes are similar in that they are both made by baking pancake batter in a rectangular or square baking dish. The main difference is that pancake bars tend to be thicker, while sheet pan pancakes are thinner and cook in less time due to the shallow sheet pan.

How do you reheat pancake bars?

To reheat pancake bars, use a microwave or an oven.

For the microwave method, place the pancake bars on a microwave-safe plate and heat them on high for about 20-30 seconds per bar.

If using an oven, preheat it to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the pancake bars on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Heat for about 5-10 minutes or until warmed through entirely. Wrapping them in aluminum foil to bake can help prevent the pancake bars from drying.

Check the temperature and adjust the time as needed depending on the power of your microwave or oven.
