My dad owns a body shop and he was the first person who introduced me to WD-40 and how it could be used for so many things. So grab a can of wd-40 and let’s tackle more than just squeaky hinges with these WD-40 hacks.

  1. Oh gosh, Chas WD-40 is my “go-to” too! I didn’t know, though that you can use it for bugs and on glass. Thanks for the extra tips!

    1. Thanks Linda and it works for so many different things. I used it to get gum off my carpet that one of my kid’s accidentally stepped on and then transferred it to my car’s carpet. Took it right off.

      I have worked in a hardware industry for more than 24 years …dealing with locks every day that were gummed up by wd40…PLEASE ….HAVE MERCY ON MY SOUL …DO NOT NOT NOT NOT….USE THIS IN YOUR LOCKS PEOPLE!!!!! A small tube of grafite for .99 is what you need ….. all of the other ideas are great …BUT NOT THE LOCK ONE !!!!!!!! thank you.

    Love this post! Have used WD-40 on tons of things over the years, including the front door. However, was told by a locksmith that you should never, ever use WD-40 or something similar on paddocks. It will ruin the interior and the locking/unlocking mechanisms. MMR

  11. This stuff saves me in the winter with my dogs tie out clasp. It would freeze and was impossible to open some days. It needs to be reapplied a few times throughout the season but does the trick.
